Agencies & Roles
Owners, admins, members — who can do what, and how invites work.
Your agency is a shared workspace: everyone in it sees the same sites, changelogs, and health scores. What each person can do depends on their role.
The three roles
| Role | What it means |
|---|---|
| owner | Full control: manages billing, changes anyone's role, removes members. An agency can have several owners, but never zero — the last owner can't be demoted or deleted. |
| admin | Day-to-day management: sites, crawls, settings, and inviting teammates. |
| member | Works with sites and data — the everyday seat for analysts and specialists. |

Inviting teammates
- 1Settings → Team → invite by email, choosing admin or member.
- 2Your teammate signs up with that same email address and lands in your agency automatically.
- 3Want to make someone an owner? Invite them first, then promote them once they've joined. Owner is granted, never mailed.
Changing roles & removing members
Owners change roles from the Team list with a quick confirmation. Role changes take effect on the person's next action — no need for them to sign out and back in. Every role change (and even every denied attempt) is recorded in the agency's activity log, so there's never a mystery about who changed what.
The one rule we enforce for you
Your agency always keeps at least one owner. The app simply won't let the last owner demote themselves into a locked-out workspace. You're welcome, future you.Still stuck? Email hello@seoswift.io — a human reads it.
